Eyes on Capitol Hill at Prevent Blindness

Eyes on Capitol Hill gives advocates the opportunity to inform Congress about the challenges Americans face accessing vision and eye care, promote early intervention and detection to prevent eye diseases from progressing, and highlight the federal programs that improve our nation’s vision and eye health. Prevent Blindness advocates and state-based affiliates together bring their enthusiasm, experience, and personal stories with vision loss and eye disease to legislators on Capitol Hill to advocate for equitable access to eye care, increased federal investments to address vision loss and eye disease in the U.S., and to urge Congress to legislate policies that keep Americans living, working, learning, and playing throughout their lives with clear, healthy eyesight.

After registering for the event, participants will complete webinar training sessions that will give them the opportunity to learn about Prevent Blindness’ advocacy agenda, the Congressional and legislative landscape in Washington, DC, and to network with other advocates and practice a legislative meeting together.
